With the weekend upon us, football fans will be buzzing as another round of fixtures comes to our screens. In the English Premier League, Saturday sees Manchester City hosting Middlesbrough at the Etihad stadium and Chelsea hosting Everton in what promises to be an explosive encounter. The battle will be fought from the front lines with strikers Diego Costa and Romelu Lukaku battling it out for the lead in the race for the golden boot. It will be an especially tough test for the Everton striker who faces a Chelsea defence which didn’t concede a single goal in the league through October.
Sunday brings the North London derby as Arsenal hosts bitter rivals Tottenham at the Emirates stadium. The last time the two sides met in the premier league, they produced a four goal thriller and this seasons match promises more of the same. Although Tottenhams form has been far from impressive, the North London derby should produce fireworks. The other match on Sunday sees Southampton travel to Hull.
La Liga’s round of fixtures licks off on Friday night with Malaga hosting Sporting Gijon. Atletico Madrid travels to the Anoeta Stadium where they face Real Sociedad on Saturday. Real Madrid hosts Leganes on Saturday at the Bernabeu on Sunday with Barcelona in action away to Sevilla later on the same day.
