Global Start-Up Competition Back Again

The second edition of the global start-up competition, Seedstars World to be hosted by Impact Hub Harare is back to the Zimbabwean capital to find the most promising early-stage start-up in Zimbabwe.

Start-ups, with less than 2 years will have the opportunity to compete for up to a million worth of equity investment.

“On October 27th high potential entrepreneurs with brilliant start-up ideas will be invited to pitch in front of an investment panel and compete to be crowned the most promising seed-stage start-up innovation of Seedstars World Harare 2017, ” said Impact Hub Harare in a press release.

“The winning startup will join the global Seedstars Family and take part in the regional and global Seedstars Summits that include a tried and tested bootcamp and investor forum.”

Last year, the start-up competition was won by Dr Cadx.

“Provided the entrepreneurship environment continues to be improved through constructive support from all stakeholders including the entrepreneurs, government, investors and corporates, we will see a strong tech economy in Africa,” said Dr Cadx, who was also Switzerland’s finalist.

“We engaged with lots of start-ups from Africa and other emerging countries who are using technology to create solutions to solve problems in our context. These range from healthcare, logistics, education, entertainment, transportation, connectivity, etc.”

The winner will go to Switzerland to compete for over $1 million in investment.

Seedstars World promotes, connects and invests up to $1 Million in emerging market startups through its exclusive startup competition in over 65 countries according to the competition based platform’s website.

The platform is a Switzerland based startup competition that takes place in emerging markets.
