Ecocash Chief Executive Joins World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders Community

Ecocash Chief Executive Natalie Payida Jabangwe has been nominated amongst one hundred that are joining the World Economic Forum (WEF) Young Global Leaders community this year.

The one hundred of the world’s brightest under 40 invited to Shape an inclusive and sustainable future according to WEB.

“One hundred of the world’s most promising artists, business leaders, public servants, technologists and social entrepreneurs have been asked to join the World Economic Forum’s community of Young Global Leaders. They are joining a community and five-year programme that will challenge them to think beyond their scope of expertise and be more impactful leaders,” WEF states on its website.

“They were nominated because of their ground-breaking work, creative approaches to problems and ability to build bridges across cultures and between business, government and civil society.”

Jabangwe is also amongst ten other people selected from Sub Saharan Africa to join WEF’s five-year program that will challenge them to think beyond their scope of expertise and make a stronger impact as leaders.

WEF also states that over half of the YGL Class of 2018 are women, and the majority of the cohort are from emerging economies.

“We’re challenging these women and men to do more and be more. They’ll join a community of enterprising, socially minded leaders working as a force for good, and highlight the potential for innovation to correct the shortcomings in our economies and societies,” said John Dutton, Head of the Forum of Young Global Leaders at the World Economic Forum.

The aim of the community is to also increase the quality and quantity of young African leaders across the continent.
