Nzenza Denies Being Under Corruption Investigation

Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Sekai Nzenza talking to journalists in Harare

Social Welfare Minister has denied that she is under investigation for corruption charges with messages on social media claiming that head of the Labor Department is into hiding.

Nzenza is said to have received some money and a house in South Africa from Environmental Minister Prisca Mupfumira, currently detained for abuse of funds, to sway away corruption charges.

“People can investigate me if they wish,” Nzenza said. “As far as I know I am not being investigated.”

“As far as I know I have absolutely nothing to hide, I have a job to do I don’t want to dwell on nonsensical smearing on social media, my responsibility is to the people.”

The Social Welfare said that she was not into hiding as claims on social media but was in her constituency.

“When I go to the constituency quite often it doesn’t work, the network that is,” Nzenzaa explained why it was hard to be reached during the weekend.

“I was not even aware that there is a lot of stories that have been happening on social media and I was not on social media.”

“Ladies and gentlemen we have got a lot of work to do for us to dwell on nonsensical stories on social media that distract us away from what is at stake,” Nzenza added on.

Mupfumira is accused of corruption relating to the National Social Security Authority (NSSA), an organisation which is under Nzenza’s Ministry.

Nzenza is yet to reveal a forensic audit which supposedly exposes corruption within the government and this is already raising suspicion amongst the Zimbabwean citizens
