Project Management Institute’s Zimbabwe Chapter (PMI Zim) is collaborating with the American Software giant Oracle to host its first conference of the year to be held on 7 February 2020 in Harare.
The conference themed “The Role of Project Management in Digital Transformation” will encourage discussion around the tools and techniques which may be adopted by project managers working towards rebuilding a sustainable environment.
Pardon Tsikayi, the PMI Zimbabwe Chapter President said: “The operating environment for Businesses in Zimbabwe is quite elastic and it has become imperative that organisations incorporate the primary tenets of project management. At the forefront, I think it is important to ensure there is continued stakeholder engagement to manage expectations in and between civil society, aid agencies, the corporate environment, the public and public service.”
“There is a noticeable need for integrated services which contribute to effective time management, risk management and procurement procedures which all feed into management of costs and, subsequently, sustainable businesses. We call this the Project Economy”.
PMI Zimbabwe offers opportunities through online webinars, workshops and conferences to ensure there is continued technical support for members and interested parties alike.
The latest conference’s programming will seek to share ideas on how SMEs may deliver on new commercial assets and improve business capability according to the organisation’s release.
“The PMI Zimbabwe Chapter is honoured to host Mr. Werner Maritz, Director of Industry Strategy for Oracle’s Construction and Engineering, as the main speaker,” the organisation says.
“Based in South Africa, Werner brings over fifteen years’ worth of project management experience which will be accessible to all event attendees.”
