Mutsvangwa Claims There is Price Stability In Zimbabwe

Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa has today claimed that there is price stability in Zimbabwe in an update that denies the existence of a crisis in the southern African country.

The Minister says the government felt duty-bound to put the record straight explaining that there has been a number of assertions, claims and even misconceptions in the media regarding a number of very topical issues.

Mutsvangwa said,

“From Beitbridge to Chirundu, Victoria Falls to Chiqualaquala, Plumtree to Mutare, the Zimbabwe Nation is now sharing a stable national pricing parity.”

“Business can plan and operate better. Citizens can enjoy price stability.”

The Minister said the opposition and their foreign handlers have been trying to create a psychosis of crisis.

“On the other side HE President Emmerson Mnangagwa has been busy on a positive and rewarding trajectory much to the relief of the people of Zimbabwe,” Mutsvangwa said.

“President Emmerson Mnangagwa has signed a raft of  astute Statutory Instruments that have since tamed a Wild West jungle that was hitherto the monetary and foreign exchange markets. “

“He introduced the weekly forex auction system for big business. It has since been deepened and widened to include small and medium enterprises.  No more arbitrary forex allocations. Instead, there is now the free interplay of supply and demand in the markets.” She went on.

Mutsvangwa denies the existence of a crisis with Zimbabwe currently faced with rising inflation that has resulted in the cost of living going above RTGS$7,425 as of June 2020.

Trade unionists have stated that inflation in Zimbabwe is eroding the workers’ wages and salaries making it hard for the labourers to make a living.
