An event seeking to expose the public to what exactly they are buying when they purchase an automobile, Zimbabwe Automobile Traders (ZAMOTA) and Zimtorque, a blog for cars and related products, have partnered with Old Mutual and other stakeholders to host the Handei/Asambe Auto Expo. This inaugural event seeks to bring the Zimbabwean motoring industry under one roof and showcase what each of the different brands has to offer. Going under the theme ‘2016 Premium Edition’, this year’s show seeks to create brand awareness, customer appreciation and educate customers on vehicle maintenance. The expo will, this year, focus on premium cars, exhibiting brand new high spec vehicles.

Local companies including Croco motors, Clover Leaf motors and Zimoco will be at the expo showcasing their different fleets. The event seeks to promote the local automotive industry. They also are aiming to increase activity at the Borrowdale Brooke complex which is owned by their main sponsor, Old Mutual. Tiger Wheel and Tyres will also be exhibiting at the expo.

Members of the public currently driving high spec vehicles will be allowed to enter competitions which will include best maintained vehicle and most pimped up ride. The expo will also hold appreciation dinner awards a week after the expo, where the exhibiting companies will reward their best customers. The venue for the awards will be announced at the expo.

The organisers, seeking to make the expo an annual event under different themes, have promised all car lovers an event to look out for on their calendars. Given the success of previous events which have been held by Zimtorque and its partners, the Handei/Asambe Auto Expo promises to be delightful for all motor heads. The event will be held at the Borrowdale Brooke complex on the 12th of November 2016 from 8am-5pm. Members of the public will be admitted for free into the expo.
