Choose Women : Buy Local [CWBL] is an initiative that has been developed in response to the need for Capacity and access for women owned and run businesses in Zimbabwe. CWBL is keen to offer Women Entrepreneurs better access to markets through Capacity Development, Support, Training, Mentor-ship and Network Development for the purpose of Business growth.
CWBL is based on the principle;
“Empower a woman and you empower the whole community” the founders believe that economically empowering woman is a direct positive towards poverty reduction” , which in a Press Statement the organisers further, stating;
“CWBL is an alternative approach to conventional marketing and trade access routes to market, it’s focused on giving greater visibility and increasing revenues of women owned and women run businesses whilst strengthening the leadership capabilities and the business know-how of the women who run these businesses”
This weekend at the Stimulus Hub in Harare the ‘Choose Women: Buy Local Market’ will launch on the 25th of February. The event will host exhibitions, Shopping and Networking, It is an interesting opportunity to meet and buy from Zimbabwean women owned businesses.
How to sign- up
Membership is accessible to every woman and all women who own or lead businesses that make local products or provide local services are encouraged to apply with two main options.
- You can either join choose women buy local and you pay $21 for 3 months subscription
(which includes a table at the Market Day)
OR
- You can Exhibit at the launch this Saturday for a once off at the market, for $20
